In a preliminary list of 25 players for the upcoming Summer Series tour of the United States of America, Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has included team captain Asisat Oshoala, veteran defender Onome Ebi, and ten home-based stars.
Desire Oparanozie, a Dijon forward, has been left out of the squad that will face four-time world champions the USA, Portugal, and Jamaica in June.
Since leading a sit-in protest over unpaid bonuses and salaries at the 2019 World Cup in France, the 27-year-old has been in trouble with Nigerian football authorities.
As a result, she was not selected for the Turkish Women's Cup, which the nine-time African champions lifted in February, as part of a 23-player team.
